Goodworks Bible-Based Counseling is a non-profit, Christian organization committed to helping people successfully work through issues by combining traditional, clinically-proven models of therapy with the wisdom found in the Bible.

We strive to provide life-changing help from the inspirational words of the Bible combined with excellence in professional counseling.

People come to us from all walks of life and with far-ranging issues. Our professional counselors have extensive experience, are licensed, and are also mature Christians with with in Bible-based therapy.

Staff Bio's

Larry Wieland
Larry is the CEO of Goodworks and is a Master's level therapist with over 20 years experience. Ten years ago Larry felt called by God to develop a Bible-based counseling ministry that would be accessible to anyone in the community in need of therapy and God's love. His vision became a reality and continues to expand as word of Goodworks' professionalism and success spreads throughout the community.

 

Jeff Baggenstoss, MAPC, LPC
Jeff is the clinical supervisor and has a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University specializing in Family, Marriage, and Child/Adolescent therapy. In addition, Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chritian Ministries from Southwestern College.

Prior to joining Goodworks Jeff was a family therapist for The Meadows - a world renowned inpatient treatment facility that treats trauma and addictions. His experience also includes working with the behavioral and emotional difficulties of adolescents at Arizona Baptists Children's Services. Adding spiritual guidance and personal warmth, Jeff has developed a caring, theraputic approach to counsel all ages.

Jacqueline M. Scorza, MA, LAC, got her B.A. at Columbia International University, and Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She has served with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea for 40 years and brings with her unique insights from cross-cultural living. While overseas she teaches principles of Lay Counseling and Crisis De-briefing /Trauma Healing and has worked closely with young people.

 

Wanda Hakeman
Wanda is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of Arizona.  She is particularly good with women’s issues.   There is a strong emphasis on empowering women to stand firm with a biblically appropriate assertiveness.  Women in a codependent relationship are great referrals for her.  She has been doing therapy for about 10 years with various populations including, individuals, couples and children.  She is able to do play therapy with very young children.  She works well with food addictions. 

Nathan Lambert
Nathan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona. He has worked with various groups of people in need. He has done family therapy, couples therapy, and individual therapy. He is also a licensed minister. He began his ministry in 2001 and has a great deal of experience with counseling. He is currently the clinical coordinator for substance abuse services at Empact, so there is a great deal of knowledge in the area of substance abuse as well. He has served in ministry as a counselor and a pastor throughout his career. He especially works well with premarital counseling and is licensed in the Prepare/Enrich program.
